Am I the only one not enraptured about a dancing dog apparently getting to the final (at the time of writing) of Britain’s Got Talent. I’m sure the owner is awesome - I’ve read the dog has an organic raw food diet, and she was rescued from being put down… but shouldn’t Britain’s Got Talent be for humans? I mean, shall I get some spiders together and make them do a dance? It’s not so much the dog on its own getting to the final, but it’s bringing animals into entertainment. Even if Chandi the dog likes it, this only promotes that it’s ok to use animals for entertainment - and others may not treat the animals so nicely.
What if every person then thinks ‘ooh, maybe I can make money by having a dancing pet?’ - we don’t really want that to happen, do we? Animals are often abused when they are trained for entertainment - like those in circuses.
Chandi has a good owner, and she probably entered for fun… and kept it fun for Chandi, but the future for other animals may not be so fun.
I don’t watch the programme anyway. Just sayin’!
PS. Does the fact that a dog gets to the final of Britain’s Got Talent prove that we humans have no talent? Are animals really more talented than all of those folk who entered the comp?
Oh and if animals ARE more talented - shouldn’t they therefore have more rights?
