I received ‘Edge’, a documentary about straight edge/drug free culture by Marc Pierschel and Michael Kirchner, on DVD, for review in Black Velvet (mag). It’s now officially out and available to buy. I thought I’d give it a brief mention here as there’s an interview with animal rights activist Peter Young in the veganism/animal rights section on the DVD. Also, straight edge interviewees such as Karl Buechner of Earth Crisis/Freya, Ray Cappo of Youth Of Today/Shelter, Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat and Bull Gervasi of R.A.M.B.O. are all vegan/vegetarian. Veganism can go hand in hand with being straight edge. Although on the whole the DVD is not primarily animal rights/vegan based, it’s well worth watching.
