Baby Bird

Anyone seen any baby birds or any other young animals in their gardens or just around, lately?

There’s a baby bird in my back garden. I saw an empty half of a shell the other week, and over the last couple of weeks have seen a baby bird around. He’s growning up fast. On Friday he tried to fly up to the top of the fence to his mom but he couldn’t make it and hit the fence half way. Ouch. One time his mom came down to see him and the baby started chirping after his mom. I tried to get a pic of mom and baby but didn’t really get a good one. Here’s one of him on his own:

Today the bird looked more grown up and made it onto this garden ornament outside my back door where I always put out some food for the birds and squirrels. It almost looks like a different bird, his beak’s a different colour, feathers have lost their fluffiness and he’s getting older.

I love watching the birds outside my window. It’s great being so close to nature. I see the same birds every day, they’re there in the morning when I get up for work and I see them when I get home from work. Although I don’t have any pets, it’s almost like I have my own family with the animals outside being so close.
